About Jason
I can still remember like it was yesterday being a young boy at the age of 5, laying on my back in the living room, eyes closed, listening to my Dad’s high fidelity sound system and being completely captivated by the sounds of music. I loved the experience that music cultivated and the way it brought people together to listen and share time together. My passion for music and high quality sound has continued throughout my whole life!
I played saxophone and guitar as a boy growing up in school. In my late teens I started playing around with percussion instruments and have now gathered a collection of hand drums and shakers from around the world. My percussion skills have allowed me many wonderful opportunities to perform with several bands over the years and accompany my Dad, certainly one of my musical heroes. I have been fortunate to be involved in studio CD projects and I have now performed on all kinds of stages, in all kinds of venues in hundreds of shows over the last 23 years. What a musical blessing!
When I was in my late twenties an opportunity arose to become the house sound engineer for one of the local music venues in the Columbia River Gorge area. I jumped at the chance to learn about sound engineering and invested in a PA system and equipment for the club. I sound engineered many hundreds of shows there and since over the years in all types of indoor and outdoor venues. I am truly passionate about high quality sound and love working hard to achieve the best results for the musicians and the audience.
In 2014 a seed of inspiration ignited in me to pursue a traveling dream. I buckled down and spent two years preparing for the biggest motorcycle ride of my life! In July of 2016 I swung my leg over the seat and took off on what turned out two be a nearly two year experience where I rode solo and camped 90% of the trip for 74,000 miles through 17 countries, all 11 Canadian Provinces and 23 US states. that many miles took me to the top of Alaska, Newfoundland, Key West Florida, across the country, back home and then to the very tip of South America, Ushuaia, Argentina. What a dream come true!
I share the above paragraph because it was on that trip that I was praying and dreaming of a new full time, fully invested career. the one I kept thinking about and having visions of was the Inspired Journey Sound Production. The seed of inspiration to start this company feels just like the seed that carried me on the motorcycle trip of a lifetime. A journey that changed my life forever and for the better. I am a truly passionate, hard working, hard playing and driven human being that cares deeply about the quality of what I put my mind and heart into. I’m bringing you the Inspired Journey Sound Production in hopes of sharing my passion and dedication to high quality sound, music and lighting. I hope to create trusting relationships with my clients and make new friends on this journey we call life.
Gear We Use
As of August 2019 ALL of the Inspired Journey Sound Production gear is brand new!
We are using:
QSC touch mix 30 mixing console
QSC for all speakers and subwoofers
Shure microphones for wired and wireless technology
ADJ Led lights and controller for light shows.
Roland DJ Controller
Stage Right stage platform. We have eight 8’x4’ sections for various configurations including the commonly used 16 ftx16 ft. The stage has an 18-24 inch adjustable finished floor height.
1 BenQ projector
One 100” screen on stand and one 60” screen on stand or wall mounted. Indoor or outdoor use weather permitting.
Rest Assured this is all high end equipment designed to offer incredible dependability, versatility and a very high quality sound and lighting experience.
The Inspired Journey Sound Production is based out of Hood River, Oregon. We consider the Columbia River Gorge Scenic Area and the areas of Mt. Hood and Mt. Adams our precious home. We are proud to service this area as our home turf! However, we love to travel and so if you have an event outside of this 60 mile radius from Hood River please contact us for traveling expenses and availability for outside this area.
